UTMN becomes one of the WorldSkills Centers of Competencies

The University of Tyumen acquired the status of WorldSkills Center of Competencies.

WorldSkills Center of Competencies is a professional development center with modern equipment and technologies on a given competence as well as experts having the relevant qualifications and experience.



In August 2018, the experts of the UTMN Laboratory of Network and System Administration met representatives of the WorldSkills Russia's Qualifying Commission. The commission confirmed the laboratory's infrastructural compliance with standards of the competence “IT Network Systems Administration”. The Center status implies having winners of national championships in current and prior years, as well as suitable facilities complying with the requirements.



“The UTMN Laboratory of Network and System Administration was founded in 2017. It is aimed at developing IT competences in in the Tyumen region, country and the world, training young professionals for WorldSkills championships and attracting IT experts to the region. There are gold medalists of the 44th WorldSkills International Competition (Abu Dhabi) and the First "Young Professionals" National Inter-University Competition among our stuff,” commented Alexandr Gorbachev, Head of the Laboratory.
