In the current geopolitical situation, the importance of dialogue between Russia and Germany in the field of education, science, and innovation is obvious.

The cooperation of  Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and FESTO Group is an example of how to combine Russian intellectual potential and applied technologies of Germany.

FESTO Group and personally the Head Dr. Wilfried Stoll takes an active part in the RussianRussian scientific and educational process.The company invests in the material and technical equipment of Russian universities, providing the laboratories with unique training facilities. In addition, about two dozen Russian technical universities are united in the International University Network Project "Synergy". In the framework of this project, the students are trained in mechatronics and robotics. Such cooperation allows universities to interact in the educational field, to organize the exchange of professors and students, to conduct joint international practices and internships, including on the basis of FESTO Group. The Project "Synergy» unites university laboratories and provides students with the remote access to equipment. Thus, students get an opportunity to work with a large number of unique training facilities, improving their developer skills.

Dr. Wilfried Stoll was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of SPbPU. "It's an honor for me," he said. "This title imposes certain obligations and in the nearest future we will discuss with the administration of the university what else our company can do to strengthen the cooperation with the university." The Head of FESTO Group is confident that the representatives of industry, education, and science should be engaged in cooperation."We should understand each other and actively cooperate," continued Dr. Stoll. «I’m happy to invite students of the Polytechnic University to Germany for the internship at our enterprises. This is our way of strengthening the cooperation."

FESTO Group provided the Polytechnic University with the a pneumatic robot manufactured by FESTO. As Dr. Stoll explained, this is the first prototype, provided to the university not only in Russia but also in the world.

Being the Head of the company, the world leader in the field of automation, Dr. Stoll knows that сadres are the key to everything.

"People create the success of the company," he says. "Not products and services, but people who manage, plan, conduct research. And the future competition between industrial corporations will not be at the level of technical components or systems, but at the level of people - their knowledge, competence, skills." Speaking about personnel Dr. Stoll mentioned the importance of internships. More than 3 thousand trainees are currently working at our enterprises. It doesn’t matter whether they came after the university or already have an experience, the FESTO Group provides internships in Germany to specialists from different countries and the company is constantly searching for the best specialist. "In addition, we give employees the opportunities for training and self-development, because we believe that learning through life is vitally important, " mentioned Dr. Wilfried Stoll.
